🔒 Our core principle
MacDevLife is built privacy-first. We do not run servers that collect your data, and we have no way to see what you store in the app.
💾 Where your data lives
All of your content is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:
- Projects, components, dependencies, documentation, and notes
- Customers, budget expenses, and time-tracking entries
- RSS feeds and saved news items
- App and analytics data you sync from App Store Connect
API credentials for App Store Connect and Git providers are stored securely in the macOS Keychain.
🔌 Network connections
MacDevLife only connects to the internet for services you explicitly configure. None of these connections share personal data with us — they go directly from your Mac to the third-party service.
| Connection | Purpose | Data shared with us |
|---|---|---|
| App Store Connect API (Apple) | Fetch your app analytics and revenue | None |
| GitHub / GitLab / Bitbucket | Monitor your repositories | None |
| RSS / news feeds | Display the feeds you subscribe to | None |
🛡️ Required permissions
MacDevLife requests access to your files only through standard macOS security-scoped bookmarks, and only when you choose a workspace or repository folder. No camera, microphone, location, or contacts access is requested.
📊 Analytics & tracking
- No third-party analytics SDKs
- No crash-reporting telemetry
- No advertising identifiers
- No usage tracking of any kind
👶 Children's privacy
MacDevLife is a professional tool intended for developers and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
⚖️ Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Because all your data stays on your device, you remain in full control of it at all times. You can view, edit, export, or delete any of it directly within the app, and uninstalling MacDevLife removes it from your Mac. Since we never collect your data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or erase on your behalf.
📋 Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and revise the policy bundled with the app. Continued use of MacDevLife after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
